Michel PINGET

Biography :

Michel PINGET is Emeritus Professor of Medicine at the University of Strasbourg since 2024. He was the Head of the Department of Endocrinology and Diabetology at the Universitary Hospital of Strasbourg from 1996 to 2013, and then created the Diabetology Unit at the Groupement Hospitalier de Mulhouse et Sud Alsace. He was a leader in the promotion of technological innovations for type 1 diabetic patients. In 1992 he founded the Centre européen d’étude du Diabète (CeeD), a private Research Institute involved in the promotion of cellular therapy. In 2002 he received the highest French Distinction as Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur.
