Biography :

Tadashi Yamamoto, BSc, Ph.D., is Professor in the Cell Signal Unit at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University. Trained at Osaka University (BSc 1972, PhD 1977) and a postdoctoral fellow at NCI/NIH, he spent decades at The Institute of Medical Science, University of Tokyo, serving as professor, department chair and director. He has held leadership roles at OIST, RIKEN and JST. His research focuses on molecular oncology—tyrosine kinase signaling, intracellular signal-dependent gene expression—and the regulation of mRNA stability downstream of membrane receptors. Honors include the Asahi Prize and Tomizo Yoshida Award.
