Biography :
Dr. Yakovlev is an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center, Virginia Commonwealth University. Over the past five years, his research has focused on the role of extracellular vesicles and their molecular cargo in regulating intracellular signaling pathways, as well as the utility of extracellular vesicle–associated microRNAs as prognostic biomarkers in cancer therapy and treatment-related toxicities. His work integrates translational and mechanistic approaches to elucidate vesicle-mediated transcellular communication. He is an active member of the American Association of Extracellular Vesicles (AAEV) and the International Society for Extracellular Vesicles (ISEV).
